STEAM Gigo Kids First Coding & Robotics Assembly Game
Ideal educational game for preschoolers to understand the basic logic of programming.
Meet Sammy. This cute sandwich robot teaches programming principles and develops STEM skills to preschoolers. It does not require the use of a tablet, smartphone or computer to program it. Programs are created simply by creating a series of command cards that create the algorithmic "path". As the robot goes over the command cards, a sensor on the bottom of the robot reads them one by one and loads the program. Then you place the robot on a track you have created and the robot runs the program. You can program the robot to move in different directions, activate gear, turn on LED lights, play sounds and respond to different action cards.
The built-in gear allows simple robotic structures to be built with arms or other moving parts that respond according to program instructions. This kit also teaches physics, engineering and problem-solving skills through a series of lessons construction and planning. The 30 lessons are aligned with the standards for computer education developed by the Computer Science Education Association (CSTA) and the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE), as well as lessons from Code.org. The lessons are developed through the illustrated activity guide, allowing the kit to be suitable for children aged at least four with the help of an adult and up to the age of eight. The courses cover these six key areas in programming: sequence, maneuver, events, conditions, functions, and variables.
Besides Sammy, there are five other stories, each of which includes a series of building models, programming challenges and lessons related to the following themes: a mouse moves through a maze to find cheese, a penguin wanders around a zoo, a soccer player moves a ball into the goal , a fire engine extinguishes a fire and a robot factory performs tasks in a factory environment. The full color illustrated activity guide guides the user through the programming lessons and assembly of the various models.
