Snowflakes or otherwise heimetla, are inflammatory circulatory disorders of the hands, due to direct exposure to cold and humidity. It is a phenomenon that often occurs in many people during the winter months. Apart from the hands, they can appear on the toes, ears and nose.
They are red or dark blue in color and are accompanied by intense pain and a burning sensation. Usually, with appropriate treatment, they subside in 14 days.
